Hello everyone,

Recently me and Conq` (later with Thot as consult) had created our project (SGFork).
There is a lot of improvements to be implemented.
And we are lack on the human resources.
If anyone is interested in participating in the project with any possible help - you are welcome.
There almost no rules. Except one and big - you have to be responsible for everything you do in the project. You have to do your best. Whatever role you play in the project - from 3d artist to configuration files management. Even if you just trying to do a comment for an issue.
There is no worries about your experience/age/sex/social status/gaming experience. If you have time and wish - you'll learn anything with our help.
Still there is opened a discussion group if you are interested only in generating ideas/discussing current ones (discussion group).
You'll need an google account if you want to participate in discussion or in project development. Also it is recommended to use gmail account, but that is up to you - google has support of other mails as well.

You'll have to get google account. Join the project discussion group -> here
After that, post you reply here. Jut to let others in the team to know that you are in.

I have to be away for two days, so I won't be able to help you with initial configuring.
I already have written some documents to help with SGFork configuration -> help page

But before doing that you'll have to do a copy of SG to be able to test SGFork.
Just copy your main SG Folder. Download ConvertToSGFork.bat (if you are using Windows platform) from project downloads page. Put it into the folder and then launch it.

After that you'll have to read "Building SGFork" document from help page. And then just do deploy stage from it.

I know that it sounds hard for the first time, but after you'll do it once - you'll get the idea and everything will be much clearer (probably you'll add something to the documents to help other to make this way easier).
Still - feel free to post any related troubles to project discussion group (I've created two topics for convert and building troubles).

Also you may find Conq` or moRtem on the IRC channel and ask them for any help you may need.

When I'll be back I'll write some more docs to help you to start with new graphics improvements.
How do you feel about replacing old UI&HUD graphics?

Great idea, this game really needs new maps and some bug fixes. Too bad that I'am too busy to help.

If you have time, patiance and motivation, I am sure you will be succesfull, and we really need a mapper in SG !!
